Ha’ azeenu – Give Ear (Listen)

The Torah reading Ha’azeenu = “Give Ear” is the last weekly portion read on Shabbos.  The final portion, Vizos Habracha – “This is the Blessing”  is read on Shmeenee Atzeres – Simchas Torah.

We thus end the regular Shabbos Torah readings with a song.  (Nice way to end).

In the song Moshe sings and teaches us the phrase,  Beenu Shnos Dor VaDor – “Understand the years of generation after generation.”  This is a powerful instruction and lesson to us.  That we need to look at and understand the years that have gone by.  Observe what has happened because of our actions.  See what has happened to us individually, as a nation and as a world.

This is an amazing statement to assist us in our struggles in life.  We are further advised to ask our fathers and grandfathers (Passover seder) for wisdom.

We also find ourselves entering into the final sealing for the New Year, Yom Kippur takes place this week.

Let us take advantage of the song and reflect and make the necessary corrections so that indeed we can sing this final Torah reading on Shabbos with great joy knowing that individually we shall be sealed for a good life, as a nation, the nation shall be sealed for a positive experience and for the world to benefit as well.
This of course can be very visible when the 3rd Bais Hamikdosh is built.
