Key Savo – When You Will Come

This week’s Torah Reading is called Key Savo – When You Will Come (into the promised land of Israel).

This week also contains the birthdays of two very famous Rabbis, Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Chassidus and Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad.  This takes place on the 18th of Elul, Wednesday.

We then have 12 days until Rosh Hashona, where each of the remaining days can be used to find redemption for each of the 12 months of the year. This we should take advantage of by ensuring that each day is filled with good days and regret for the past negative deeds.

In the Torah Reading, we come across the concept of rejoicing from all the good the Al-mighty has done for us.  When doing so we should include those that are less fortunate then us.  Perhaps the Torah is telling us that when we are considerate of those that are less fortunate then us we indeed will have what to celebrate for.  This is also alluded to in the concept of why the 2nd Temple may have been destroyed.  There was a lack of love for one another.  The building of the 3rd Temple is predicated on the love for one another.  Let us continue to work in this area so that indeed we can all sing and dance in Jerusalem with our Holy 3rd Temple.
