Shofteem – Judges

This week’s Torah Reading is called Shofteem – Judges.  We also have entered the special month of Elul, the month before Rosh Hashona, the New Year.  We begin to add prayers and also blow the Shofar after the morning prayers.  This is a special time to renew our connection to the Al-mighty and to receive a positive judgement for the New Year.

In the Torah Reading we again find Moshe telling the Jewish Nation not to fear the enemy in battle, no matter how powerful they may appear.  We are to remember the miracles the Al-mighty performed on our behalf.  This concept is a true reality for our people at all times.  When we are doing the right Torah objective, we need not have fear.  Our mission will be accomplished even if it may require a miracle.  Yes, today we have the Iron Dome, but in reality we have still the Al-mighty.

We continue to encounter adversities in our personal lives and as a nation.  We need to march forward knowing that what Moshe told us is very relevant to this day.  If we march to battle with the Torah as our guide we will overcome these obstacles or enemies no matter how difficult the challenge may appear.

The Torah portion is called Shofteem – Judges.  We need to judge each situation and see to it we act according to the Torah way,  In this way the door for miracles from the Al-mighty stands wide open.  Soon this door will open to reveal the 3rd Holy Temple, may it be very soon with the coming of Moshiach.
