Vaeschanan – And I Pleaded

This week the Torah Reading is Vaeschanan – And I Pleaded.  This Shabbos is called Shabbos Nachamu – The Shabbos of Comfort.  We are supposed to find comfort in Shabbos after experiencing the events of Tisha B’Av – The Ninth of Av.  This is the fast for the destruction of our Holy Temple and the Exile we are now in. Tisha B’Av is on this Tuesday. It is strange that Tisha B’Av often falls out on Tuesday, a day that is blessed both in the physical world and in the spiritual world. (the Al-mighty called the 3rd day of creation, which is Tuesday, Ki Tov – And it was good twice.  This is explained to mean that the Al-mighty considered Tuesday to be good both earthly – physically and heavenly – spiritually).

In addition to having the repetition of the 10 Commandments the Torah Reading also contains the Shema Yisroel – Hear O Israel portion.  Talk about heavy duty, this Torah Reading is packed.

The Torah Reading concludes with the reminder that the Al-mighty keeps His promise.  He will also pay those that hate and harm Israel.  The final sentence is a reminder to keep all the Laws of Torah.

Wow, it would be beautiful if we could see and hear on CNN, or FOX, or NBC, or ABC etc. the news commentator report that today we see the final promise of the Al-mighty being fulfilled with the building of the 3rd Temple in the picture behind the reporter.  Let it happen soon so that we can all see that Tuesday is indeed a doubly blessed day
